Playcrafters of Skippack is pleased to announce auditions for Clybourne Park on February 27, March 1 and March 4, 2014. This will be the first community theatre production of this play in the Philadelphia area. All roles are open. Auditions will consist of readings from the script. Auditioners should also prepare a 1 minute to 1:30 minute monologue of their choosing from a contemporary dramatic/serio-comic play.

Clybourne Park (2010) is a play by Bruce Norris written in response to Lorraine Hansberry's play A Raisin in the Sun (1959).  It portrays fictional events set before and after the Hansberry play and is loosely based on historical events based in the city of Chicago. The play was awarded the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the 2012 Tony Award for Best Play. Clybourne Park tells the story of a house, a neighborhood and the people who have come and gone over five decades. This daring comedy, leasing characters and property from the 1959 classic A Raisin in the Sun, unearths that gentrification is not just black and white. This is a two Act play in which Acts I and II are separated by 50 years, and the characters are doubled.
